Communities and institutions need input from the people affected by their decisions, but meaningful participation takes time. As decisions become more frequent and complex, most members cannot assess every proposal, deliberate with others and vote. The result is a gap between formal participation rights and actual influence.
Taulon gives each member a personal AI delegate that helps them follow proposals and participate in decisions they would otherwise miss.
Persistent preferences: The delegate learns from the member’s stated views, decisions, and corrections, rather than starting from scratch on every proposal.
Transparent: Members can inspect its reasoning, see when it is uncertain or may have drifted from their views.
Portable: The member can use their delegate across DAOs, open-source projects, cooperatives, shareholder groups, and civic communities, with separate permissions and context for each.
Adaptable: The AI delegate continuously evolves and adapts to reflect changing views and roles of the user-constituent.
Product: Build a sandbox for communities to create and test opt-in AI delegates, which gives members tools to set preferences, review their delegate’s reasoning, approve or override its actions, and revoke its authority.
Governance experiment: Run bounded, initially non-binding pilots with real communities to test whether agent-mediated participation improves representation and decision quality.
Research infrastructure: Study preference faithfulness, changes in represented preferences over time, manipulation, accountability, and collective outcomes, using data shared with participants’ consent.
People want to participate and decide. They just don’t have time to follow every proposal, debate and vote.
We start where this problem is easiest to solve and measure → DAOs, open-source projects and online communities.
